Late sleeping may trigger Sudden Death

Francesco Cappuccio, professor of epidemiology and treatment of cardiovascular, along with colleagues Dr Michelle Miller, an expert in medical science, made this conclusion after monitoring of about 470 000 people in eight countries during the period of 7 to 25 years.
"There is a demand in society today that our lives should be more fit. By championing the balance between life and work make us sleep too much to risk valuable time to ensure that all tasks have been performed. But in doing so, we have increased the risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease leading to heart attacks, "said Cappuccio.
"If you sleep less than six hours a night and disturbed sleep, you have a 48 percent greater risk of dying young or having a heart attack, and the risk of dying from stroke increased 15 percent.
"The trend of late night and early morning is a time bomb for your health. So, you must act now to reduce the risk of developing conditions that threaten life," he added.
The study said the optimum time to rest at night is seven to eight hours. While more than nine hours of sleep is a sign of health problems.
Experts are as yet not able to explain exactly why sleep deprivation can interfere with the vascular system and heart. But according to Cappuccio, there is plenty of evidence that sleep deprivation can disrupt the endocrine system which regulates the production of hormones in the body.
In addition, lack of sleep can also interfere with glucose tolerance and lower insulin sensitivity, which can lead to risk of diabetes and high blood pressure.
Last year, Prof Cappuccio also published a review of 16 studies involving about 1.3 million people. The review showed that those who slept less than six hours each night and 12 percent higher risk of dying before age 65 years, than those who slept seven to eight hours a night.

Facebook and Greenpeace Finally Makes Peace
The tension that occurs between the company owner of the largest social networking site in the world and a leading environmental watchdog finally ended.
Facebook and Greenpeace said today they will work together to encourage the use of renewable energy is more environmentally friendly and leave the coal-based energy sources.
Prior to this, Greenpeace itself utilize these social networking sites to campaign mission against Facebook policy.
